Below are some Frequently asked Questions. If you don't see your questions listed, or have a suggestion for one, please e-mail us and we'll be glad to have it included! americanheritagegirlsfl3130@gmail.com

Q. What fees might I expect for the year?

A. It is our desire that costs do not make it difficult for a girl to participate. We are currently working on some options to make sure everyone can participate. Monthly plans and partial scholarships are available on a limited basis, based on donations at the time.

Registration is $40 each girl and leader per year which is paid directly to the National Office.

Handbooks -  Handbooks are $19.99 each (included in packages listed below).  Three separate books are available:  Pathfinder, Tenderheart/Explorer and Pioneer/Patriot books.

Uniform costs vary according to level:

~Pathfinders-$32.00 including t-shirt, necklace (with beads they earn throughout the year) and  Handbook. Not included but still part of the uniform is a navy blue or khaki skort, bermuda shorts or pants.

~Tenderhearts-$93.00 includes vest, neckerchief/slide, official AHG polo and Handbook.  Not included but still part of the uniform is a navy blue or khaki skort, bermuda shorts or pants.

~Explorers-$93.00 includes vest, neckerchief/slide, official AHG polo and Handbook. Not included but still part of the uniform is a khaki skort, bermuda shorts or pants.

~Pioneers-$74.00 includes sash, official AHG polo and Handbook. Not included but still part of the uniform is a khaki skort, bermuda shorts or pants.

~Patriots-$74.00 includes sash, official AHG polo and Handbook. Not included but still part of the uniform is a khaki skort, bermuda shorts or pants.

Dues-Money is raised by each girl through fundraising, but if annual target not achieved, dues are paid to cover the balance.

Badges - the first 3 are FREE (see above) and then they are $3.50 each

Campouts - We try to keep expenses low for our families.  See front table or family mailbox for event information and costs.

From time to time we have other special events which may arise. We do our best to keep costs down for everyone. The majority of us are frugal, one-income families and have more than one girl involved so we try to make sure costs are manageable for everyone to participate.

Q. What does a typical meeting look like?

A. Generally, our meetings will include an opening flag ceremony, then we break up into our Units (the different levels) to complete badge work, do a Bible study, play some games, do a craft, or prepare for a service project. When done with friends, it is ALL FUN!!!

Some things we try to do each year: Troop sleepover, monthly game nights, campouts, a swim day, flag retirement events and many more!

(We're always open to suggestions for new things to do.)

 Q. Do you do fundraisers?

A. Absolutely! Fundraising covers troop costs, including the first 3 badges earned per girl, annual National Dues, general crafts and supplies, service awards, and scholarship funds.  See troop budget for additional information on how fundraising dollars are spent.

Some examples of fundraisers we have done so far are: Spaghetti Dinner, Car Wash/Bake Sale/Yard Sale. We sold Krispy Kreme Donut cards and have had Fall Festivals with food, games and Silent Auctions.  We are constantly evaluating what might work best for the troop. All girls are required to participate in fundraisers and there are a variety of ways to do so at each type of fundraiser. A fundraiser buyout option is available for parents who do not wish to have their girls fundraise.
